Movement quality part. 2

Movement quality part. 1

A standing position 5 min

Feet – nine points of contact with the floor- five toes, the two ball of the feet, the outside arch and the heel Knees- slightly bent and springy, not out nor in – just tracking the toes Pelvis – tailbone pulling down, pelvis is heavy, an attempt should be made to relax it and feel its mass while keeping the glutes relaxed at all times Head – the ‘martial crown’ of the head slightly behind the normal crown is hanging from a thread this will slightly tilt the head forward and tuck the chin lightly. The neck should be ‘pulled up’ by an action of pushing the head up while suspending the rest of the spine and the pelvis down against it, it will eventually feel like a pull and not a push Chest – empty, relaxing the muscles of the pec. This will allow the upper back to rise or ‘pluck’ and it will align the spine further between the suspended head and pelvis Shoulders, elbows, wrists, hands – relaxed but long, hanging with gravity. First lengthen, then relax ‘inside the length’ and ‘hang your muscles’ Weight distribution – 50/50/50 – 50:50 between right and left foot, 50:50 between heel and toes and 50:50 between outside and inside of foot. Centered and recentered – keep monitoring this and correcting it
